st experience with a Rattray’s blend. Amazingly cool and flavorful. Very clean on the palate. Definitely a lighter blend than I usually smoke. I actually enjoyed this because of the lighter smoking. I realized after smoking this how flavorful and satisfying a lighter blend can be. All I have smoked for years is full flavored blends with pretty good strength. Bottom of the bowl will have you craving another one because of how clean and refreshing it is. No thick oils or tar covering my mouth after the pipe. No bite. A broken flake that burns as well as a shag cut. It never ceases to amaze me what a fine blending house can do with two or three tobacco’s (this is made by Kolhase and Kopp in Germany for Rattrays). Comes somewhat moist in can. Lovely grassy, lemon scent from can with the characteristic raisin smell of Virginia blends). Dried for 15 minutes. After the charring light pipe stays lit until bottom of bowl. Bought 100 gram can (now wishing I had gotten 500 grams). Going to be my after work pipe daily until it is gone. If you love this tobacco and cannot get it in stock you may love Blairgowrie by Druquer & Sons (Blairgowrie is a little bit more stout and contains some Latakia). I could see pretty much any pipe smoker enjoying this blend. Will be purchasing more Rattray’s blends in the future. Read Less

I love this one a very enjoyable smoke - beautiful broken flake. On the retrohale i get a spicy taste that reminds me of Christmas. It has a deep robust taste that I love. A repeat buy for me.

Great smoke! Every time I open a tin after not smoking this for a while, it just floors me how good it is. Good backbone, but mild enough to enjoy often. Rattray's Brown Clunee and HOTW also get top honors in my cellar.

燃烧好斗温不高，甜味明显但甜度不算高，应该是V草放的不多或者用的陈年V来调配，尼古丁含量高很强劲，整体VP典型的甜味、果香和刺激感，感觉不出B草那股坚果或咸香味，但通过尼古丁能够很清楚的感受到P和B的强度，耐抽不腻且非常过瘾

r me. Next, it took a while for the taste of this blend to shine, yet I was patient. As the bowl progressed, the taste profile was properly presented. It has a wonderfully rather sweet taste of roasted nuts, baked bread, and other delightful things alike. The taste remained throughout the bowl, with no added complexity, yet quite pleasing. The nicotine level was rather mild, which is not something I prefer. More so, there was a general lack of "oomph" to the blend. This would have been a fantastic top blend had it been "amplified" in terms of strength as the bowl progressed. I wanted that. I waited for that. I intently smoked hoping for that, but it never came. It remained mild, only hinting at what could have been. As such, although it has a truly delightful taste, it is just too weak for an experienced smoker like myself, who prefer much stronger Burley based blends. Read Less

Great ready rubbed cut. I have rubbed out and just packed as is, both methods provide good smokes. Slow puffing is most important or it can bite a bit. Smooth and spicy. Great smoke.

to me , and I tell ya it ages well! But , fresh is awesome too, so dont think its like some Va's that "need" aging to get better. Old Gowrie , is Excellent no matter how old it is. Great Va's, and not too strong on the Perique. Just about as perfect as a Va-per can be , in my opinion. Read Less
