About This Pipe Tobacco

One of McConnell's original blends dating back to 1848, Scottish Flake originally featured Orientals and Latakia, but today's version is a classic Virginia/Perique pipe tobacco, balanced by Dark-Fired Kentucky, pressed, and cut into flakes.

Very good VaBur mix, IMHO. Red Virginia provide body, dark fruit sweetness, tanginess. Kentucky provide spice, nuttiness, woodiness. I didn’t taste certain harshness that I usually taste in Kentucky blends. Perique is almost non traceable condiment here providing, may be, occasional bursts of spice. I couldn’t taste rum topping at all. I presume it adds some sweetness.
The blend is not pipe dependent at all. Tastes the same both in briar and meerschaum pipes of all sizes and shapes.
Altogether, a very enjoyable blend. I will definitely buy it again....Read More

there really isn't a lot to say other than it's a damn fine smoke. It's not a classic vaper, the addition of the Burley gives it a light tanginess and creates a unique flavor I don't find anywhere else. If you're looking for something extra in a vaper that's not too dark this one definitely pops. It's so good in fact I'm dedicated a pipe to it.
