About This Pipe

Many people understand there to be two basic camps of blowfish design. Lars' blowfish is what others might call an egg, but it has the teardrop shank with the sharp line running into the bowl, and is often straight grain. Tokutomi has a completely different style; his are all cross grain, with teardrop panels that splendidly run their lines sharply around the bowl. The blowfish here is something more often seen from Jess Chonowitsch and Former. It takes the voluptuous egg shape and combines it with one side from Toku's style. The result is an interesting fusion of shaping aesthetics that is more of a beautiful combination, than merely an evolutionary step.
