About This Pipe

Pharaoh Tutankhamun, otherwise known as King Tut or the Boy-King, was the 12th pharaoh of the 18th Egyptian dynasty. He ascended the thrown at eight or nine years old and reigned until his death at the age of 19. Several centuries later, in 1922, Tutankhamun's tomb was discovered by British archaeologist and Egyptologist Howard Carter. The tomb's discovery was a seismic event in archaeology, and since it's unearthing, the tomb and the artifacts it held have greatly contributed to our understanding of Tutankhamun and pharaonic times.

To honor the centenary of the tomb's discovery, Dunhill has fashioned a limited-edition series of pipes, comprising a single shape rendered across a number of the English marque's most iconic finishes. The shape in question is a Group 5-sized Diplomat, which sees a stout, squat bowl set to a demurely curved shank-and-stem arrangement. Each Diplomat in the series is adorned with a wind cap that's hand-sculpted to look like Tutankhamun's mask. Additionally, each pipe is presented in a leather-bound book and comes included with either a sterling silver or gold-plated tamper. This particular offering is dressed in the gorgeous Cumberland finish and features a wind cap made of sterling silver.
