About This Pipe

Wojtek Pastuch is a celebrated Polish carver known for his wide-ranging style. Having been mentored by Tom Eltang, much of his stylistic influence comes from the Danish school of pipe making. His portfolio consists of shapes running the gamut from the unique and eccentric to the refined and classic, with this bent Brandy showing strong Danish influences. Framed on one side by the stem's deep bend and the plump curvature of the bowl on the other, the shank kicks high out of a mid-set transition. A strong, rounded taper guides the outline of the bowl from its wide heel into the narrow rim. While the pipe may be compact at only five inches long, the bowl packs a capacious chamber, ideal for longer smokes. The smooth curve underscoring the stummel provides a cozy fit in the palm, and the transition would make a great place to sling a digit for comfort. For a subtle dose of contrast, the junction wears a slim accent of warthog tusk, with the subtly shaped stem bringing up the pipe's rear. Around the stummel's left flank especially, the deep cherry smooth finish highlights some gorgeous straight grain, making this a piece well-rounded in both beauty and function.
