Jody Davis is an award-winning musician and renowned pipe maker. Davis' portfolio exhibits both American and Danish influences, with plenty of compact yet muscular designs that showcase refined, practical shaping. While he pulls from several different schools of design, Davis has cultivated a style that's uniquely his own and beloved by many.

This Rhodesian from Davis combines sinuous curves with the compact, muscular shaping of the American carving style. The underside of the stummel follows a sweeping, continuous curve that imbues the entire composition with a sense of gestural fluidity, while the thickness of the shank and bowl impart a sense of heartiness. This heartiness is only enhanced by one of Davis' painstaking sandblasts, here stained a dark, smoky hue and paired to a striking split stem featuring a beautifully coordinating wooden accent.
