About This Pipe
One of the United States' most accomplished pipe-making artisans, Abe Herbaugh is known for producing pieces with clean lines and practical proportions, this elegant bent Dublin being one of them. Sleek and streamlined in profile, this offering pairs a tall but trim bowl to an arrow-straight shank-and-stem arrangement. The bowl demonstrates a reserved flare toward the rim, whose inner portion is neatly chamfered to aid in the loading of one's tobacco. Out back, the short, cylindrical shank sits low in the composition, its underside melding seamlessly with the bowl's narrow yet muscular heel. A domed accent of silver caps the shank, adding a dose of flash to the ensemble and offering a secure fit with the push-style stem. The tenon of said stem seamlessly transitions into tight-knit, saddled shoulders, which are proceeded by a lengthy stretch of vulcanite with a pronounced fishtail flare at the bit. Despite its arrow-straight shank and stem, this pipe's broad bit and exceptionally light weight — just under a single ounce — allow it to be easily clenched hands-free. Whether hung from the jaw or tucked in hand, this offering is sure to exude sophistication, elegance, and just a touch of rugged organicism thanks to the stummel's dark, smoky-hued sandblast.
