Smooth Rhodesian Tobacco Pipe

While I suspect this Rhodesian shape was inspired by an old Comoy's, Chris's personal touches — namely making the bowl a little shorter and relatively broader, with the bead-lines tucked in just above the top of the shank — remind me even more of certain old French Rhodesians. The over all scale, however, is definitely closer to the old Comoy's; those French pipes of days long past tended to be pretty small, even the stoutly-built ones. As for the finish, that, too, gives the nod towards Comoy's inspiration, sporting the kind of beautiful contrast that have made the Blue Ribands and Specimen Straight Grains holy grails amongst collectors. As often as we hear "they don't make them like they used to", well, sometimes someone does, if you just know where to look.
