About This Pipe

La Bruyere pipes are carved by Thomas Manzoni, a seasoned artisan who spent nearly two decades honing his craft at the Chapuis-Comoy factory in Saint-Claude, France — the genesis of modern pipe making. The weight of Saint-Claude's history is not lost on Manzoni, as he draws endless inspiration from both the pipe-making institutions and artisans around him. Having trained under skilled craftsmen Pierre Morel and Bruno Nuttens, Manzoni has cultivated a refined style that is sure to delight those drawn to updated takes on Anglo-French designs.

This bent Brandy is among the first of several La Bruyere pipes offered here at Smokingpipes, and it offers a refreshing take on the classic shape. The bowl is affably plump, with a subtly muscular heel that rests comfortably in the palm, and charming cheeking along the angled transition that introduces an elegantly upturned shank. Said shank is joined by a fetching acrylic stem whose chocolate-brown and sandy beige swirls pair handsomely with the rich stain and wavy sandblast that dresses the stummel. For the smoker who appreciates classic silhouettes with slightly more modern finishes, this offering is sure to entice.
