About This Pipe
Evoking the look of Sixten's Peewit to my eye, this crisp-heeled Acorn rendition from Li Zhesong sports three knuckles of honey-blonde bamboo for the shank, paired to a warm, dark ruby-stained sandblasted finish. Foregoing the soft, almost inflated rim of the Danish archetype, the Chinese carver here opted for an inward curve, faced off and polished smooth to highlight a handsome cross-grain pattern. It's light as a feather, and the rippling rings offer a stimulating texture in hand to boot. I have a bamboo-shanked number very similar to this, and it's one of my favorite smokers. Recommended.
