Autograph Smooth Rhodesian (8) (6mm) Tobacco Pipe

Savinelli's illustrious Autograph series consists of pipes hand-carved by select individual artisans from start to finish. Shapes can span a wide range, with the series comprising both venerated classics and stunning Freehands. Showcased here is one of the Autograph line's more traditionally-inclined pieces: an elegant, gestural Rhodesian. The composition sees a pert, upright bowl standing at the fore, with supple walls flaring reservedly from the firm heel toward a softened ridgeline at the waist, where they then show a gradual taper to the rim, the overall figure contouring well to the hand. A balanced shank lifts out of the transition from the bowl and joins to a gracefully downturned tapered stem, the arrangement lending the profile a sense of fluidity. Designated with the Autograph line's "8" grade, the stummel here features some stunning grain, with lively flame highlighted across the bowl's flanks beneath a smooth auburn finish.
