Drucquer & Sons - Trafalgar 100g
Fine English
Excellent tobacco, that I find myself revisiting frequently. The Orientals add a light spice that complements well, and the latakia supports rather than overpowers. Smokes with minimal relights, satisfying nicotine and good flavor throughout. I do find myself missing the nutty component of Inns Of Court which remains my favorite in the series, but this is also a fine all day smoke.

Sweet and Pleasant
Broken flakes and coins that come quite moist, reclose the tin after opening then smoke the next day and it resolves. All components are tightly integrated and give a taste of bread sweetened with rich dark molasses. Flavor is consistent down the bowl and does not vary greatly. Nicotine is light, and can be a bit nippy if smoked too fast so pace yourself. Solid smoke.

Symphony of Flavor
This blend is really excellent. The base of the blend is the Kentucky which provides a rich platform that the other flavors dance around. Some puffs reveal sweet sugar, others have a floral note, and fruit shines through in other puffs. It is complex and interesting throughout the bowl. Nicotine is good, does not require many relights. Seems to work best folded in half and stuffed without rubbing out the flakes too much. Highly recommended.

It's...different
I feel I have smoked this enough times to give a fair review, and its...ok. There are not a lot of "bright" flavors in this blend to me, and it has a fairly heavy "dark" note that does not deviate much. I also pick up on a sort of umami taste that seems more mushroomy to me than anything else, and which I have never experienced in any other blend. Its not my favorite, but it is different. I do not detect any appreciable virginia sweetness, and the taste is steady and all the way down. Needs few relights, and is stronger than most other small batch releases in the nic department. Its not one of the C&D releases I have enjoyed, unlike most of the other offerings. Your milage may vary.

Mainstay
This is my home base tobacco, the core of my rotation. I smoke more of this than any other tobacco and always keep some around. It is not the strongest or the most complex I smoke regularly but its the one I always come back to after a hard day or when I just want comfort. It delivers loads of nutty richness from the burley, has good body, perfect nicotine and the Latakia is in the background and provides a bit of interest instead of dominating the taste. Its right in the sweet spot for me.

Stockton and a little bit more
This blend strongly reminds me of the now unobtainable MacBaren Stockton, but with a little extra tang from the loose Virginia. The Kentucky taste of smoked meat is present (to me more than the component list on the tin suggests) and it is welcome. The blend is delicious, and I find works best by just stuffing the coins and other bits into a bowl and lighting without further ceremony, although I sometimes stack a couple coins on top before lighting. The price is definitely a bit high, but if you miss the taste of Stockton this will satisfy you. I have noticed that some of the HU blends have a sort of "buttery" humectant or top, which is present but works well with the blend. I found the tobacco to be moist, but not wet and immediately smokable without drying. Medium nicotine, cool and minimal relights.

Subtle and balanced
This tobacco was well balanced. I experienced a general medium to rich taste with a flavor of light brown sugar coming through. The kentucky was detectable but not at the forefront, and there was also floral hint that came through from time to time as well as very light hints of cigar leaf. It was medium in strength to me, and the smoke was creamy in body. I think this would make a suitable all day smoke. There was no bite at all.
