Excellent VaPer

Upon first light I felt certain tea-like taste which disappeared after few puffs. Previously, this particular taste I experienced only with my two favorite McClelland’s straight Virginias. But enough of reminiscence. Even though in description they say about red and light Virginias combined, the red Virginia is the major player here. Perique is added in abundance as well which satisfies me just fine. First half of the bowl taste is sweet and spicy. Second half of the bowl spiciness of perique somewhat diminishes while the taste of Virginias darkens. I have to say that I really enjoy the taste of Virginias in this blend. The blend is not pipe dependent. I tried it in all my Virginia pipes both briar and meerschaum different shapes and sizes and the taste stayed consistently the same. Altogether I found this blend to be very savory and enjoyable. So far in my experience I can compare this blend only to Escudo and Solani 633. Considering the fact that Solani is almost impossible to find nowadays, well… I will most definitely buy it again. Whether it will become part of rotation is yet to be determined after a more thorough comparison with Escudo and few other VaPers I’m planning to try in the near future....Read More

It’s actually very nice and enjoyable smoke the Perique level is about 35% - but the Virginia’s shine bright. Sweet and lightly spicy. Quality tobacco for sure, a winner if you like lighter Perique. Buying again

Alot of VaPer's generally like to shine through brights and perique. The nice mix with the upfront red and perique is what makes this flake shine.

For people who love Capstan Blue or Escudo, this belongs in their rotation. Balanced VaPer with no real flaws. Light in flavor but, the subtlety is a nice change of pace.

I concur with others, I was pleasantly surprised after smoking one of these flakes. The perique isn't overpowering at all, in fact it's fairly light BUT the flavor and complexity is unique among similar styled blends. This stellar blend seems to fall under the radar as there are so few reviews for it. Sad as it is quite good. You do need to be a perique lover to truly enjoy this blend.
