Amazing Blend

Product: Cornell & Diehl Old Joe Krantz 8oz
Don't know how people don't like this blend, unless you just don't like burley. Really is one of the best burley blends on the market, a tie in my opinion to Haunted Bookshop, but a bit heavier on the nicotine. C&D absolutley killing it with their blends. If you get an ashy smoke, slow it down. When smoking Old Joe Krantz properly, it tastes like a sweet and spicy chocolate peanut. Maybe I'm an outlier, I don't know, but if your a fan of burley, do not sleep on OJK. Absolutley killer blend 5/5 from me!...Read More

If the nicotine wasn't so strong in this I would smoke it all day. Love it.
I like it…a lot

It’s a very interesting blend for sure. The tin note smells like worn socks, yet the room note is kinda sweet and pleasant. It’s strong and kinda comes out swinging, but when you slow it down, it really settles and starts to become a very rewarding smoke. It’s become one of my favorites. I personally wouldn’t recommend retro-haling more than a few times because it’s dragon fire....Read More

I will differ from all the glowing reviews of this blend. I purchased a tin to try it out, based largely on the reviews posted here. Way too harsh for me. I tried to figure the best way to describe, for me, what I was smoking. I gave up trying to identify all the other ingredients that others find, and determined that smoking Old Joe Krantz was in reality smoking Old Joe's remains after cremation. RIP Old Joe.

Maybe after letting it age for a while my opinion of it might change. As of now, I won't be reordering.

I know this blend is very well received, and it has all the components I would consider great, but something about it just tastes "off" to me. I can taste the burley, a bit of tang from the perique and a bit of citrus from the virginia, but as whole they mesh in a weird way that I can't quite describe. It leaves a weird taste/feeling in the back of my mouth that I don't find pleasant at all. The closest description I can think of is earthy, bordering on dirt. That all being said, the quality of the tobaccos are obviously quite high so I'd rate this fairly average.

I did find it pleasant when mixed 50/50 with some goopy aromatics, it toned the casing down and brought more of a bold/pure tobacco flavor. I probably won't be ordering more, but I plan to try the other variants.
