About This Pipe Tobacco

With the same consistency and perfection which master pipemaker Claudio demands of each and every briar that is to bear his name, Cavicchi is a blend of full-bodied Burleys, topped with subtle notes of chocolate and port. If you want to try it, try it now. Like the rest of C&D's Scuderia Series, Cavicchi is a limited-production, "small batch" blend.

Rich, Strong and Tasty

I am very picky when it comes to Aromatics. Most lose their appeal before I get half way through a bowl. I have several cans of aromatics sitting around that I will likely never smoke again. C+D's Cavicchi is an exception. You really taste the burley. The port and chocolate add a very noticeable dimension of richness without taking over your palate. You know you are smoking burley. It's not so complex. It would make a great all-day blend for me. There's enough nicotine to get me going and the flavor is consistent from when I light the bowl until it turns into a fine, white ash. As far as AROs go, I like it....Read More
Burley at it's best!!

Product: Cornell & Diehl Cavicchi 2oz
When I started to seriously sample and learn about pipe tobacco, I somehow grew to dislike many blends with the word Burley in it's description. As I've grown as a smoker, I've come to realize my error. Cavicchi is a great example of how wonderful Burley blends can be. As reported it has a tin aroma of rich tobacco, complimented by a light chocolate and hint of wine astringency. Some might classify this as an aromatic, but it probably doesn't deserve that too-broad label. This should be called a "Great Tobacco" that happens to be an aromatic. The flavors of chocolate and Port (a great combination in real life, along with a rich maduro cigar) don't dominate the Burley tobacco, but harmoniously compliment the taste with subtlety and balance. Kudos to C&D!! Highly recommended....Read More
