Sampled in a MM Missouri Pride
This is the pipe tobacco version of barbecue sauce ( not God's favorite barbecue sauce, Eastern NC Vinegar based blessed goodness, but like St Louis smokes and sugar and sweet spice sauce. Which is still better than Western NC Tomato based sauce - bless their hearts.)
I have no idea what the latakia percentages are, but somehow its punch you in the face good while still giving the Virginias room to have a little sweetness. It's nice.
Kinda gives me the same vibe I get from Plum Pudding. You know - that smokey twang?
I knew by the middle of the second bowl that this was going to get a top rating from me.
It is lots of smokey spicy fun - brown sugar and honey and smoke and pepper - I'm telling you - barbecue sauce - and I really dug it.
I'm honestly really surprised that 1) I don't think I see this one talked about much / at all and 2) that it's not rated even higher on Smoking Pipes.
If you like English blends, give it a try. I'd bet most folks like it .

I went and checked, and sure enough, it did! I haven’t tried another English with burley in it before but it totally made this blend for me. The burley brings such a nice body and taste to the smoke and is such a nice addition to an English. It is by no means overwhelming but is definitely present. I did expect an English, however the pop of Latakia really had me falling in love with my old pipe again. Smooth and even burning, consistent flavors all the way through. True enough sometimes the alternative is better.
