Sampled for three bowls in a MM Missouri Pride (conditioned).
Today must be my lucky day - this is the third blend in a row that’s good stuff. (Could also be because I’m in a patch with no aromatics). The Virginia here really compliments the burley - it’s a very nicely layered approach - kind of like the sauce on some ribs. I think I’d like a little more Perique , but others may not.
Lots of white smoke - and it smokes cool. I think of burley’s usually as a fall blend, but this one really slaps in warm spring / early summer. Again the nuttiness of the burley layered with the Virginia is a real delight.
Made a quick reload (these shitty cobs do not hold enough ). The room note is nice but not fragrant - definitely a “pipe” smell.
Good blend.
My rating : 4- this is good - I’m ordering some to have around when I am ordering something else
Wow. That makes 20 blends out of the 101 , and in a week. I’m going to take tomorrow off and enjoy my briars and finish up a few of these small bags (Stanhope, New Market, Pasha’s Dream).
Will get back at it in a day or so....Read More

This is what Capn Black is supposed to taste like IMHO. A nice half n half with just enough Black Cavendish to get lost in without smelling like creap perfume. Oh, and just when you stoke away getting lost in the experience, there's a pinch of perique to slow you down lol! Great stuff.
