Haunted Bookshop will always be my #1 but sometimes I want something with a little more complexity and smoothness, that's where this blend comes in. The addition of dark burley deepens the earthiness, swapping the red VA with Virginia flake provides a lighter kind of sweetness, and the addition of unflavored black cavendish provides body and smoothness and takes off the rough edges without being obtrusive about it. This is what Capn Black is supposed to taste like IMHO. A nice half n half with just enough Black Cavendish to get lost in without smelling like creap perfume. Oh, and just when you stoke away getting lost in the experience, there's a pinch of perique to slow you down lol! Great stuff.

Personally, I feel that this blend tastes much stronger and heavier than expected with the burley overwhelming. Won’t order again.

I wasn't sure what to make of this at first, but it has been steadily growing on me. I keep reordering it (in bulk rather than tin), which is probably the best recommendation I can give it. The addition of unsweetened black cavendish is what sets it apart. The gold leaf plays an important role as well, whereas the burley leaf is the main character. Very soft on the palate.

I actually ordered this by mistake now I'm so glad I made this Mistake this is a great smoke. Although I lean more toward the Orientals this will be in my rotation.

Not a fan of this one, I had different ideas what it would taste like by the description, but on opening the tin the smell tastes like the smoke. As stated above, not the best.
