This a beautiful smoke,I'm using it to break in a new pipe.I'm sure I can taste the orientals in this one.Not trying to drum up business for C&D,but this the best from them I've had yet, and my experience with them goes back to the late 90s

I’m a fairly new pipe smoker so I don’t have all the fancy tasting notes... but wowza! This is a great blend! It did not impress me for the initial part of the bowl, but 1/3-1/2 way in it really starts to meld and the flavors are just wonderful!

fruit note from the heavier Perique content and red Virginias. The brights do make an appearance with grassy notes but they are subdued. As with the XX Flake, the age of the Perique is noticeable and is supports the reds quite harmoniously. And to think this is a fresh tin! As of 3/20/20, it is sold out. vor. The tart plum is front and center the whole way through. The Orientals add a nice creamy spice, and the VA is more tart and citrusy than sweet, although the occasional sweetness comes to the front every few minutes, but quickly fades back. Overall this blend is pretty acidic and astringent, but completely delicious. I happen to love tart/tangy flavors and this has them in spades. Easily the best VaPer I’ve ever had, and probably one of the best ones produced in recent years I would think (that’s pure speculation on my part). I’m not obsessed with VaPer’s, but if I were, this is surely one I’d never want to run out of. It’s a bit too tart to be an all day smoke for my palette, but as an occasional treat, it’s damn good. ike to know I'm smoking without singeing the cilia of my lungs. There is plenty of body here but it is not harsh. Though I don't think I could smoke more than a couple pipes per day. I find this reminiscent of bijou with perique, but my memory could be playing tricks on me. I should really buy the dark flake and try it as well. Read Less

e are several bulk Virginia or Virginia-based (and/or VaPers) flakes that are much cheaper and just as good or better. I'm an intermediate pipe smoker, and I've reached a point where the fancy packaging and limited runs don't sucker me in anymore. I suggest skipping the high dollar flakes and getting big quantities of highly rated bulk flakes. Put some in the cellar and enjoy a jar in the meantime, too. I just have to call it like I see it.
