A wisp of incense from the monastery at Leng. Exotic spice from the City of Ulthar. Wine fermented by the ageless Kuranes himself. Only in timeless Celephaïs could these esoteric ingredients be procured. A ritual performed over a bed of Red and Bright Virginia, with hints of Dark Fired Leaf and Kasturi results in an otherworldly aroma that beckons all dreamers back to Celephaïs.
The sixth entry into Cornell & Diehl's celebrated Old Ones series, Visions of Celephaïs combines Indonesian Kasturi leaf with choice red and bright Virginias and dark-fired Kentucky, resulting in a naturally spicy, complex base that's elevated by a unique grape wine topping. The combination makes for a unique aromatic pipe tobacco, with a deep, rich flavor, balancing spice with sweetness, similar to that of a tawny port. Packaged in 2oz tins with stunning Lovecraftian artwork, it's an excellent addition to the eldritch line, and quite unlike anything else we've smoked.

e bowl wet. Nic hit was med-full for me but I am not the most robust in that regard. Overall like a strange Manischewitz.
What I mainly want to touch on with this review are the precautions needed with this blend. It has to be treated almost as nuclear waste. I dropped a few shreds of it in a desk drawer when loading a pipe and the drawer smelled of grape candy for a week. It will ghost something bad; unless you’ve been possessed, dedicate a pipe to this, preferably a cheap briar or cob. I’m using a $20 pot I got on eBay for this and am going so far as to keep it and the jar of this blend in a separate drawer from the rest of my stash. This makes for a little bit of a hassle but I’m a fan....Read More

ct blend is likely to possess. In this case, GRAPE seems to be the operative word, and deservedly so. However, I do not feel like this standout flavoring ruins this smoke. Rather, I feel the intent of the blend is to create higher, perfume-y note over a warm base of comforting tobacco, much like its ethereal namesake. In my opinion, this intended effect is accomplished, rendering a blend that is out of the ordinary, and is certainly not going to be to the liking of everyone. Some tobacco’s smell great but have no taste, this blend delivers both a pleasant room note and an untraditional taste . It’s more of a nice wine than a candy grape.

3) About 30 cloves which you will break in half
4) Three full stars of Star Anise broken into about a dozen pieces
5) A small stick of Cinnamon broken
Mix all this in a bowl and place in a airtight container and let sit for at least
A week and it is ready. Drink along with this spice tea or apple juice or an Ale.

I cellared this tobacco for 2 years and it’s still ok at best. Not bad but not particularly good either. Which is a shame because I like (and even love) the other tobaccos of the Lovecraft series.

Dear god. From the first light it was horrible, I tried to give it time but it only ghosted my pipe with that awful flavor. The first bowl I’ve ever dumped out, but apparently not fast enough. Sour grapes, bad wine ghost. Be afraid!!!!!
