G. L. Pease: Géométrie 2oz Pipe Tobacco

Product Number: 003-029-0102

The second entry in master blender Greg Pease's Zeitgeist Collection, géométrie is a strikingly modernist reinterpretation of traditional Virginia/Oriental mixtures. Aged Red Virginias artfully layer with and accentuate vintage Basma and Izmir leaf, reinvigorating the Virginia/Oriental archetype in an elegantly pressed, plug-cut format. It offers considerable aging potential and a deep, matured flavor right out of the tin: Notes of freshly baked goods overlap planes of subtle spice; rich, malty sweetness; and a hint of floral zest on the palate. Captivating, expertly balanced, and inventive, géométrie captures the artistic vision behind Pease's Zeitgeist Collection.

About the Zeitgeist Collection: The Zeitgeist Collection is a pipe tobacco series from Gregory Pease that pays tribute to the avant-garde and rebellious themes of the modern era. Each carefully formulated pipe tobacco in this series evokes the spirit of a particular location, time period, or cultural milieu. This mixture, géométrie, is a nod to early Cubist paintings and sculptures and the artists, like Picasso and Braque, who pioneered the intrepid movement, with the tin depicting an abstract, Cubist design milieu that incorporates crisp, geometric patterns and vibrant colors.

Parallelogram Plug
May 07, 2025
Product: G. L. Pease Géométrie 2oz
The plug comes cut as a parallelogram. How intelligent! Definitely a thought provoking, clean, elegant Virginia/Oriental smoke. Nice change of pace from a lot of the other things out there in the world of pipe tobacco. Definitely a sipper you'll want to spend some time getting to know. Pure, unadulterated tobacco taste here where the Virginia lays down a nice base for the Turkish to really shine....Read More

Very complex for a Virginia Oriental blend in a good way some sweetness and spice, refreshing like a half and half lemonade iced tea. I bet it will age nice too. 5 STARS 🔥
Not My Favorite Zeitgeist

Product: G. L. Pease Géométrie 2oz
I think this is my least favorite of the three, I definitely get the earthy grassy hay tones, that's not necessarily a bad thing, it's just not quite for me.
Masterclass Craftsmanship. A must have in your collection!

Product: G. L. Pease Géométrie 2oz
This is one of my top favorite blends. The Virginia's and the orientals combined together gave me an almost Arnold Palmer flavor: half tea and half lemonade. I was astounded! That the natural leaf could achieve such a flavor combination without touching any toppings or casings is sheer genius. Your palette might inform you otherwise, but one thing is for sure: This blend is extremely delicious! I would buy a pound of this stuff if I could afford it....Read More
Another Zeitgest masterpiece

Product: G. L. Pease Géométrie 2oz
This is a masterful blend. GL Pease already has the pleasure of taking up a lot of my cellar space with Bankside, which is an all time favorite... And now Zeitgest might be joining the ranks. Right away upon lighting a delightful floral note touched my palette, and that feature danced in and out of this blend throughout the bowl. Very delightful and elegant, not perfume-like by any means. In fact, this flavor is one I'm chasing in this blend. Just amazing. Besides that, there's a certain zest from the virginias that I can only compare to a sun dried tomato (without an overly vegetal taste). Otherwise, the VA's are not that forward. In fact, I mostly noticed that classic figgy taste from the VA's in the aftertaste, rather than in the smoke itself. The described malty notes are a good characteristic, and there's almost a sort of rustic bread taste (typing this doesn't sound appetizing, but I promise, I mean it in the best of ways). Overall, this smoke can be characterized by having a consistent sweetness that is really enjoyable. It's more of a molasses flavor, if I can compare it to anything. Not sugary or overly sweet. Not artificial by any means. Really, really enjoyable. All the other characteristics intermingle with this at varying intervals, but that sweetness was easier to find in the fray than the rest. I will say, there's a desire to really chug this bowl of tobacco since it's so good. But it rewards those who sip it. If you get burning too hot, a sort of acrid, grassy note can come out. Easy fix if you change your pace. But this is definitely a sipper. Like a lot of Pease's blends I've tried, this is not one I'm smoking while working in the yard, fishing, or hiking. This is a thinking man's smoke. Put the phone down. Get rid of the distraction. Light it up, and sit with it. Trust me, it will reward you for being attentive like so. This blend, besides those notes is still a bit elusive to me. But I'm keen on revisiting it many times, and discovering what else it has to offer....Read More
very nice!

Product: G. L. Pease Géométrie 2oz
Tin note of spices, dried fruit and grass/hay. Tobacco is a plug of marbled orangish tan, brown and dark brown. Moisture content is great. Recommend a sharp thin knife or razor to slice off some 1/8 inch flakes. Rubs out with a little force. Cubes nicely. Burns slow with a few extra relights. The strength is medium and nic is mild. No flavoring detected. Taste is medium to full and very consistent, with notes of spices, fermented sour, floral, tart citrus, wood, peaty herbal vegetation, lemon grass, mildly savory, orange peel/zest, spicy, bread, semi-sweet dark dried fruit, a earthy and sweet hay background note, and a very peppery retro. Oriental/Turkish is leading with Virginia trying to keep up. Room note is tolerable, and aftertaste is good....Read More

A mild all day smoke. I’ll likely smoke it spring through early autumn. The Virginias come through strongest. Light grassy, mild floral sweetness. The orientals add a nice supporting bouquet. Moisture is on the slightly dry side. Definitely good to go right out of the tin without any need to let it sit before packing. Probably best enjoyed by smokers who like straight Virginias. I’m looking forward to seeing how my other tins age over the next few years...Read More
Turkish delight

Product: G. L. Pease Géométrie 2oz
If you enjoy the Pop and Sizzle of turkish tobaccos this is a blend for you. The name implies order and structure of the elements and there is a distinct line between the two main flavors.
A hot buttered apple wasbi starts the bowl.
The dry sweet musty tang moves around into a woody note as we
ll as a floral fruit.
The Sizzle carried throughout the bowl but was always slightly sweet with a hot butter note while a smooth flavorful foundation kept the blend light.
Both are distinct and separate thus fulfilling the name in full.
Turkish tobacco’s have had a stigma of being a component of cigarettes and many boutique varieties went commercially extinct but today we enjoy a master blender taking this lovely leaf to new prominence.
Recommend to all enthusiasts and newcomers who want to enjoy a unique blend.

A 4 out of 5. Starts off grassy and spicy with a little bit of sweetness, builds to a medium to medium high in spice and flavor with med tones of what tastes like baking spices, cinnamon, mace, nutmeg, reminds me of the bread pudding I make, this should be rated 4 out of 5, nit the usual medium of 3. Really nice on the retro hale. Sublime and truly wonderful. Can't say enough about it!...Read More

Product: G. L. Pease Géométrie 2oz
I like this blend thus my five star rating. Orientals are a tobacco that has a lot to offer but has gotten a lot of abuse over the years as a constituent of cigarette blends. Over the years I have seen more and more blends that bring the essence of this tobacco closer to its true place in our blends. I like the buttery hint and sweet nut that hides deep in the bowl where other blends give up. Smooth, with pepper over spice. With some time in a jar I expect this blend to mellow the level of pepper to match the soft spice and for the more delicate flavors to emerge in full. Recommend to all Enthusiasts and almost all newcomers as this is a flavor over power type blend with a deep flavor profile. For those who are willing to put in a bit of time and effort this blend will shine far above the already tasty profile I found on offer....Read More
