About This Pipe Tobacco
The inaugural entry in a new series from master blender Greg Pease, Bankside introduces the Zeitgeist Collection — a line celebrating the often avant-garde and rebellious themes of the modern era — with a strikingly modernist reinterpretation of the archetypal Virginia/Perique flake. From a bold, traditional canvas of Red and Bright Virginias and genuine St. James Perique emerge subtle, contrasting strokes of dark-fired Kentucky and Latakia tobaccos — originating exotic, smoky undertones that support and enrich its notes of sweet cream and citrusy tang.
About the Zeitgeist Collection: The Zeitgeist Collection is a pipe tobacco series from Gregory Pease that pays tribute to the avant-garde and rebellious themes of the modern era. Each carefully formulated pipe tobacco in this series evokes the spirit of a particular location, time period, or cultural milieu. This inaugural mixture, Bankside, is a nod to Modernist art and architecture and the defiant but forward-looking culture that inspired the movement, with the tin depicting an abstract rendering of the Tate Modern art museum located in London's Bankside district.
Customer Reviews
Personally, it's not the set of flavors I look for. I admire it for what it is. And it's a great change-up for someone who stays more with straight Virginias or burley-based blends. I tend to prefer more vegetal, grain-related flavors. But something like this is a nice change of pace every once in a while. Bold and beautiful. Very meaty, if you like that sort of thing....Read More
Starting off with a strong citrus note that slowly fades away with every puff.
I just couldn't get into it.
Not a bullseye, but pretty close.
