Product Number: 003-029-0100

"A rich and satisfying cut cake comprising sweet, ripe Virginias, nutty Burleys, unflavored toasted black Cavendish, and a generous measure of Perique. A splash of dark rum ties it all together, and adds a bit more sweetness. As you enjoy this slow, clean-burning flake, you'll find hints of cocoa, black walnuts, and dried fruits enhancing complex, natural tobacco goodness. Full on the palate, with a delightful aroma. Enjoy smooth sailing with Windjammer." - Gregory Pease

Fans of G.L. Pease's Virginia-based blends like Haddo's Delight, Barbary Coast, and Fillmore are sure to enjoy this old-school navy flake pipe tobacco. Windjammer combines naturally sweet Virginias and nutty Burleys with a significant percentage of spicy Perique, married together and elevated by a splash of dark rum for a rich, flavorful smoke with notes of cocoa, black walnuts, and dried fruits. Toasted, unsweetened Cavendish serves as flour in a roux, allowing the blend's complex, rich flavor to stick on the palate from charring light to the bottom of the bowl.

It's so good Im at a loss for words. consistent fruity rummy goodness. plummy and rich but cool. when I first tried it I was sure there was latakia in it and kept rereading the reviews. somehow the combo elevates it from coming across as an aro and has something darker, more mature and rounded in flavor. perplexing. was smoking it out of a vaper-dedicated pipe. but found I prefer it in an English-dedicated pipes using a 9 mm filter. somehow to me it smokes a little like a vaper version of Frog Morton cellar maybe but sweetness here is less. How often you smoke depends on your capacity to indulge yourself without burning out. I wouldn't say this is a daily smoker but it could be. I like this every three or four days to keep the novelty so it's always in my rotation. Only one question: why isnt this sold in 8 oz and 16 oz options? making me buy all these 2 oz tins......Read More
Spiced rum VaPer

I have smoked a lot of VaPers and my favorite used to be McClelland 2015 and I still have some of that cellared which is a nice treat. This one is definitely my favorite that is in production. I recently figured out I like burley and unflavored cavendish after 20 years, so this is like taking my favorite VaPer and melding it with my favorite burley/cavendish and topping it with an amazingly spiced delicious rum that actually comes through in the smoke. Like, there is a lot going on, but it all works to make this just fantastic. I find myself reaching for Carter Hall more and more these days, but when I'm not smoking that, you can bet I'm smoking this! I like this better than any of the esoterica VaPers i have tried. I even have an 8 year old cellared Dunbar that's not this good....Read More

As my first dive into the virginias I am so happy I decided to go with Windjammer! I have to watch, it bites me which is one of the firsts to do but it’s so good! I’ve only had a couple bowls thus far but I very much enjoy the spice I taste from it, is that the Perique giving off the spice note?? I could use more of that!! I can see this one becoming a daily enjoyment for me as long as I can slow it down so it doesn’t bite and burn the ol’ tongue which shuts me down for a few days.. Great blend!...Read More

I didn’t like this the first time I had it. As a matter of fact I gave it away to someone in the IG pipe community. Turns out I needed to give myself time with different blends to mature my palate. Now, this is becoming one of my go to blends. The flavors are absolutely amazing. It’s a nice easygoing blend. It has a nice dark fruit notes along with a nice sweet Virginia flavor. I really enjoy smoking this on my way to work. If you don’t like it at first, jar it up and give it and yourself time....Read More
Nice

With three years' age, it's very nice. A bit on the artificially sweet side, which makes me suspect more sugar and PG than real rum. The balance is great for the first half of the bowl, no one note overtaking the others. Each is detectable but none is separable from the rest. Room note is very inviting, especially upon returning after having left for a few minutes. This is owed to all that sugar and spice. Though the broken flake is rather dry, it is strangely difficult to keep lit, which makes tongue bite a risk. It works well in a tall, thin billiard, such as a Savinelli 706 or Bing's Favorite. **Edit: There's something bitter in it. About halfway through the bowl it gets incredibly bitter, staying that way all the way to the bottom. Maybe it's all that sugar and glycol burning. That stuff doesn't belong in/on/with tobacco of any kind....Read More

My first GL Pease was Quiet Nights. This is similar but milder amd better balanced in my opinion. It lights well and doesn’t bite, a very solid blend overall.

Once again Pease has set the standard high. I really like this blend. I heard described as smelling like fig newtons and I think that’s a really good description as tin notes go. You definitely get a fruity tartness not so much citrusy more berry like. There’s definitely a mild spice a suspect from the Perique and rum. Definitely a strong molasses presence throughout the blend. The Virginias and perique are definitely the stars of the show I do detect a bit of nuttiness from the burly but not much same goes for the black cavendish. If you want a good Virginia perique blend with a bit more flavor this is a fantastic blend great for the summer and the beach! Give it a go you can’t go wrong with Pease the master wizard! 🧙‍♂️...Read More
