I found this stuff in bulk at a B&M while on vacation and bought an ounce to try. Now I wish I could go back and buy what's left because apparently it's been discontinued and sold out everywhere. I am hoping to pip back in that B&M while visiting this month and fingers crossed there's some left. This blend is perfect and unlike anything I've had. It somehow checks every box. Rich Virginia's, poignant Perique, smoky DFK, and Orientals to tie together the cocktail of my dreams. I smoke mainly English and Va/pers but also love DFK. عندما فكرت في شراء هذه الخلطة توقعت انني ساجد تبغ قوي للغاية وفي الحقيقة هو اقل من ذلك بقليل رائحة الخلطة في العلبة مميزة فستجد روائح التبغ تقريبا فيها هادئة ولا تسبب خشونه في الانف لها نكهة الاخشاب و الكاكاو الخفيف والقرنفل يظهر ويختفي والقليل من نكهة الخل الهادئة والقليل من النكهة الترابية والعشب و الازهار عند التدخين لا تشعر بطعم تبغ يطغى على الاخر كلها متوازنه طعم الحلاوة من فيرجينيا متوسط وكثافة الدخان متوسطة لكن الرائحة المحيطة قوية بعض الشيئ وقد يجدها البعض مزعجه الاحتراق بارد بدون لدغة لا يترك ماء في قعر الوعاء والرماد ابيض ويحترق التبغ بالكامل

This is the best Perique-bearing blend I've had with Burley and Virginia in it, along with the Cavendish, Orientals, and Dark-Fired Kentucky. It is, I imagine, something like striking the mother lode in a gold mine and discovering that it is laced with silver, turquoise, lapis-lazuli, and amethyst, along with a rich vein of uranium. Smooth morning smoke

Better with a bit of time in a jar. I'm smoking it in a very long churchwarden providing an extremely cool pleasant smoke. It's very mild, slightly spicy and buttery. It could only be better if I were smoking it in LA (Lower Alabama).😉

Better Now With Some Age

My last entry on this was two years ago,and it has improved a lot.This was a 2015 purchase.I am smoking this in a larg,seldom used Upshall billiard.I think that the peanut gallery members who complain of a cigarette taste should stop smoking cigarettes.

Tastes like a damn cigarette

It burns well and lights well, but so do cigs. Not into this blend at all. Might as well have smoked a camel. It's all subjective, of course, so cheers to those who enjoy it.

Strong Va/Per with generic Perique.

A tasteful and a quite strong mixture for a Mac Baren. If you are looking for a deep blend with very complex tastes, there it is. It is not an easy mixture. The balanced mix of all added tobaccos causes a different experience in each draught. Each type of tobacco shows up and faints away every once in a while, making it a really interesting smoke throughout the bowl. And each bowl is somehow a new adventure. It is all about natural tobacco aromas. There is no detectable sweetness in this blend, neither from Virginia and Burley, nor from Cavendish or Perique. And I am glad there is no artificial sweetening and flavouring. All these points make this blend unique and therefore highly recommendable to explore. Give it a try. I am glad I did, although it has not become a favourite of mine. I dare to say that in my taste and opinion the Perique in this mixture is not original St-James-Parish/Louisiana Perique. I think it is a GENERIC Perique. Unfortunately it is a taboo, but everybody knows, that more Perique is used in the tobacco industry than produced in St-James-Parish. Furthermore, Mac Baren carefully mentions nowhere, that there is genuine Louisiana Perique in this mixture. If there was, they would most certainly mention it explicitly.
