About This Pipe Tobacco

Manufactured in a century-old brick building in picturesque Lauenburg, Germany, Dan pipe tobacco has gained quite a worldwide reputation among smokers, with a wide variety of blends and cuts on offer. Andreas Mund became the successor in charge of production when master blender Jürgen Westphal retired, and is assisted by Heiko Behrens as well as Michael Apitz of Dan Pipe.

Part of the American History series of pipe mixtures, Liberty from Dan Tobacco commemorates the crossing of the Delaware River by George Washington and his troops on the night of December 25th, 1776. A subtle English blend, it features Brown Virginias with a touch of Dark-Fired Kentucky and Latakia, flavored with hints of fruit — the perfect homage to America's tobacco tradition.

Well crafted tobacco that doesn't bite and burned evenly. The tin note was intriguing and indicative of the flavors while smoking. Early in the bowl, the tobaccos shine, but about halfway through the fruit toppings come through stronger and I realized it is not my favorite flavor. If you're interested in cross over blends this is a great candidate with great tobacco that you can taste all the way through. Simply not the right choice for me....Read More

In my opinion, this is a wonderful smoke. At first I was skeptical, having read a few reviews, and finding only one video of a true opinion on this. But its delicious. The grape everyone is tasting and talking about to believe to be black currant. Its deeper in flavor than grape, but my god it tastes so much better than it smells. The topping is rich but not over powering. The flavor of the dark fruit topping mixed with the latakia pairs so well together, I forgot where I was for a moment. Which is exactly the thing im looking for in those quiet moments of peace I get to reflect. I would give it a 5 star rating if it was just a bit stronger in the vitamin N department....Read More

This is my first English Aromatic I've ever tried. Upon opening the tin, I was pretty nervous that I wasn't going to like it at all. The tin note was this over powering grape scent. I mean it smelled okay and all, but didn't think it would translate to a good smoke. Figured id be smoking something that tasted only like grapes. However, when smoking it, the grape isn't overbearing at all. You get all the nice Smoky flavor of a full bodied English blend with some nice, sweet grape undertones. It was actually pretty damn good. It's something I wouldn't smoke constantly, but every now and again I wil definitely enjoy smoking this....Read More
