When you open the tin it looks like 3 rectangular plugs, but when you pick one up you realize each "plug" is sliced into thin straps reminiscent of Wrigley's chewing gum. Rubs out easily and has a delightful fruity aroma and flavor that isn't too strong or overbearing. I've discovered that I really enjoy mixing it 50/50 with Orlik GS. Was about to order more but now it's out of stock! Hopefully it will be back soon....Read More

I'm really impressed with Mac Baren once again. For a Virginia flake this has a really good room note, sweet and not offensive. The tin note is fruity and light. There is a really good balance of tobacco flavor with a nice topping to this which I enjoy. A little effort is required to get it going as it is a bit moist and may need some time to dry if that's your thing. The flake burns extremely evenly and slow with a small bit of bite. I definitely recommend keeping a tin or two of this stuff on hand.👍👍...Read More

I sampled this at the West Coast Pipe Show and I absolutely love it. The folks at Mac Baren mentioned it was a blend made to give a nice natural Virginia flavor with a more pleasing room note, hence the light fruit top dressing. Personally I think they've pulled this off nicely. It's 70% Virginia which comes through nicely with notes of hay and fruity flavors like raisins and figs etc. Black Cavendish makes up 20% of the blend and takes the top dressing nicely and adds a bit of sweetness to it. Burley brings in the final 10% of the blend and helps round it out. It cools the blend down a bit and helps prevent tongue bite. It packs easily and burns wonderfully. With the light top dressing it does have a pleasant room note. If you're looking for a good Virginia to enjoy in the company of others give this one a try....Read More
