About This Pipe
Having grown up in an artistic family and possessing a love for antiques, it comes as no surprise that Irish artisan Austin Quinlan found his way into the pipe-making world. He started off his pipe-making career restoring estate pipes before going on to receive training from Giacomo Penzo at Peterson of Dublin. This Poker Pint from Quinlan is a fun rendition of the classic shape. The bowl flares subtly above the shank to resemble a pint glass. With its white stain and frothing birdseye, the rim resembles the foam at the top of a glass of beer — a unique way to incorporate the briar's natural grain patterns into the overall composition. The pipe may be compact at a little less than five inches long, but it packs a deep chamber within the bowl's insulating walls that will make this a great companion for those seeking a longer smoke to add into their rotation. With its resemblance to a pint glass, the bowl's forward cant lends even more playfulness to the pipe by evoking the spirit of clinking glasses with a hearty "Cheers!" The forward cant serves an additional, practical purpose as well: It places the chamber at a convenient angle for lighting the contents within. Full of life and joy with a deep chamber to match, this would make an ideal pipe for celebratory occasions or any other fun event.
