About This Pipe
Jerry Zenn, originally from Kaohsiung, Taiwan, spent 25 years as an automotive mechanic before turning his precision and hands-on expertise toward pipe making. His meticulous craftsmanship and appreciation for organic forms have earned him recognition as one of East Asia's leading pipe carvers.
This Tomato exemplifies Zenn's mastery of materials and proportion. The aft is accented with several rugged bamboo knuckles and a broad boxwood ferrule, their natural tones and textures flowing seamlessly into one another. The topping boxwood elegantly continues the bamboo motif, visually balancing the large, rounded bowl. A crisp sandblast highlights the briar's rich grain, completing a design that is flowing, organic, and beautifully cohesive.
