About This Pipe
Taiwanese artisan Jerry Zenn worked as an auto mechanic for decades prior to his pivot to pipe making. His experience with mechanics and pursuit of perfection make his pipes particularly sought after, not in the least because Jerry's sandblasting abilities are so impressive, as can be observed with this Volcano.
The rounded, sloped walls of this Volcano give it an appearance near that of an Egg that has been cut off on the bottom, but the relatively conical shape still make it unmistakably a Volcano. Jerry's trademark sandblast gives the bowl a wonderfully unpredictable touch to the fingertips, and the light walnut stain allows the grain to be observed even easier on the walls of the bowl. Four short, arced knuckles of bamboo kick up into the vulcanite stem, which tapers back from a single, slender expansion ring near the junction. Jerry's sense of good mechanics comes in handy here, allowing him to produce a work of remarkable beauty and engineering all at once.
