About This Pipe
American pipe maker Jared Coles' style comprises a unique fusion of American muscularity, Danish fluidity, and Japanese organicism. This is a gorgeous offering from Coles. It is a bent Apple lithe in form, with a petite, shallow-chambered bowl and a high-kicking shank. The rounded rim has been left smooth for easy chamber loading, and its color and texture echoes that of the resin accent at the shank end. Said shank end curls up out of a tight knit transition to launch the stem up for a smokey sip. The hand-shaped saddle stem has a base that melds into the bit, its subtle taper smoothly directing the eye into the lofted bit. Meanwhile, the stummel's red-stained sandblast fades into the smooth finish along the bottom with a degree of precision that is quite impressive.
