About This Pipe
Chinese artisan Lv Zelong's fascination with pipes began in 2009, when he took up pipe smoking as a hobby. Danish influences can be seen in Zelong's work, which, combined with his own artistic vision, creates a unique and organic style. As a craftsman, he pays particular attention to his staining and drilling, prioritizing stunning aesthetics alongside reliable smoking performance and comfort.
This bent Dublin by Zelong embodies organic artistry infused with Danish inspiration. The fore of the piece features a full, rounded bowl supported by a flat heel that allows the pipe to sit without a pipe stand. The bowl's walls are substantial and rise to a wide, inflated rim at the top. From there, the stummel transitions smoothly into a concise shank, which gives way to an expansive ferrule crafted from horn. The swift flare of the ferrule mirrors the bowl and offers a contrast in texture and tone, drawing attention to the pipe's aft section. The stummel is finished in a dark sandblast, which accentuates rippling growth rings along the bowl's flanks. While the heel remains smooth, showcasing swirling birdseye, the rim combines glossy birdseye patches with rugged, plateau peaks for a striking interplay of texture.
