About This Pipe

As a third-generation artisan, Federico Becker carries on the tradition established by his grandfather Fritz and his father Paolo. Working in Italy, he often draws from classic English design, blending those influences with the distinct Becker aesthetic. His pipes are defined by clean lines, balanced proportions, and finishes that range from polished smooths to deep, expressive sandblasts.

One of the most characteristic aspects of the Becker workshop is the inclusion of a pointed heel, and this Dublin example takes that signature feature in a more fluid direction. The flared bowl features an elongated, chinline section along the heel, almost calling to mind the Volcano shape as the ridgeline wraps around the entire lower section of the bowl. The rim is softly inflated and wrapped in a distinct ridgeline that bifurcates the start of the rim. The shank, set low to the bowl, takes a soft taper to the junction before meeting a tapered stem that gradually slims toward the end of the composition. The stummel is finished in a crisp sandblast, highlighting stacked growth rings along the bowl's flanks.
