About This Pipe

Antonio Lancellotti began making pipes in 2021 out of his workshop in Oppido Lucano, a small town in the province of Potenza in southern Italy. Antonio's style is inspired by the Danish school, as well as Italian marques such as Radice and Castello. Most of his work is done with Ligurian or Tuscan briar, and in addition to pipe smoking and making, Antonio's pursuits include music — he plays bass guitar in a band.

This Billiard from Antonio is very precisely made, weighing in at barely over one ounce. The lines are very straightforward — the bowl is only lightly tapered and the cylindrical shank is quite no-nonsense in its journey from stem to bowl. The sandblast, ringing the bowl in tight waves that accentuate the flame grain, is darkly stained to match with the vulcanite saddle stem. Birdseye, finished smoothly, rings around the rim with a rich, reddish-brown stain. Anyone looking for a lightweight Billiard will not be disappointed, but it's the care that Antonio put into each facet of this pipe that truly makes it unique.
