About This Pipe
One of the biggest names in Italian pipe making today, Castello's roots can be traced back to 1947, when Carlo Scotti founded the workshop and began producing handmade briar pipes. In a time of quantity over quality in Italy's pipe-making history, Scotti flipped the script by prioritizing craftsmanship, high-quality materials, and cutting-edge engineering. Today, the brand remains committed to these principles, producing exquisite pipes like this Occhio de Pernice Billiard.
A rather sleek rendition of the classic shape, this Billiard still retains the bowl-centric proportions of the Italian neoclassical style often employed by Castello. The cylindrical bowl immediately draws the eye as it towers over the trim, low-set shank and stem. The bowl's chamber offers ample room for a favorite tobacco blend, while the taut, muscular heel allows the pipe to sit upright on its own. Dressed in Castello's smooth, rich Collection finish, the stummel showcases stunning birdseye that has earned the Italian marque's coveted Occhio di Pernice designation.
