Il Duca pipes are the embodiment of Massimiliano "Max" Rimensi's deep-rooted passion for both pipe smoking and fine craftsmanship. Each pipe is the result of years of dedicated craftsmanship, rooted in Max's early fascination with pipe making and honed by his foundation in woodworking. Il Duca pipes are distinguished by their balance of form and function, often enhanced with unique materials and eye-catching finishes.

This Ball is one such balanced example, offering a lithe design with a distinctly Anglo-French sensibility. Its proportions are lean and well suited to everyday smoking, while its more avant-garde character is expressed through its unique bowl: squat, exceptionally rounded, and nearly spherical in profile, with a plump waist around its midsection. A low-set shank emerges from the bowl and gradually tapers into an elongated vulcanite stem, which continues to the bit for a sleek, balanced profile. Dressing the stummel is a deeply textured sandblast that highlights sweeping cross grain across the bowl's flanks.
