About This Pipe

Il Cerchio pipes are handcrafted by artisan Angelo del Prete in Pordenone, Italy. They embody a philosophy centered on balance, continuity, and perfection. Angelo prioritizes technical skill and aesthetics over novelty. His pipes often feature curving lines, slender proportions, and a sense of dynamic movement, all of which highlight compositional harmony and balance — attributes that echo the meaning of "Il Cerchio," which translates to "the circle."

Balance is the defining impression of this classic Billiard, a shape that perfectly showcases Il Cerchio's approach. Having seen countless Billiards over time, it is always a pleasure to encounter this familiar form interpreted through an artisan's lens. What sets this particular piece apart is the clarity and precision of its lines, especially along the back of the profile. The shank and stem are slender and refined, with the shank's clean line flowing seamlessly into the shoulders of the vulcanite saddle stem, which then tapers elegantly to the bit.

The bowl remains traditional in form, with a cylindrical shape that presents an ideal canvas for one of Il Cerchio's signature sandblasted finishes. Handsome flame grain rises along the flanks, while clusters of birdseye adorn the fore of the bowl. Completing the composition is a band of Elforyn, a modern material designed to closely emulate genuine elephant ivory.
