About This Pipe
Since its founding in 1982, Ser Jacopo has emerged as one of the foremost pioneers of the Pesaro style, a tradition defined by robust proportions and bold, expressive shaping. The Italian firm's Historica series reflects on over four decades of craftsmanship, presenting modernized interpretations of some of its most distinctive and inventive designs, as exemplified by this bent Brandy.
Ser Jacopo's Picta collection draws inspiration from pipes depicted in classic works of art — here referencing the work of Pablo Picasso. This "11" bent Brandy from the Picta Picasso series is modeled after the pipe seen in a 1904 self-portrait by the Spanish painter. While its silhouette remains a faithful interpretation of the form shown in the painting, the pipe's true character is best appreciated in hand: The bowl curls forward from a tightly knit transition and exhibits subtle cheeking, a shaping detail more commonly associated with Danish pipe design than Italian. The effect suits the piece beautifully, and with generous chamber depth, it promises long, contemplative smoking sessions. An engraved sterling silver band adorns the shank, handsomely contrasting the stummel's sandblasted finish.
