and packs, lights and burns well. I just wish it had a touch more strength and flavor. Would be a 4.5, a big aro rating for me, but dinged half a star for not being very, well, aromatic for an aro. Room note is soft and bland for an aro....Read More

ancake syrup, cookie dough and bananas.
Sampled in a MM Missouri Pride.
I am in an aromatic Hell. That statement is not indicative of this blend solely, but I am glad that the list remining here to the end only features about 3 more aromatics in the top 31 blends. But I digress.
This blend is at least a tiny bit interesting, especially compared to other aromatic offerings. It does not hit it s full potential in my opinion, but then if it were deeper with the perique and thicker with the Virginia, we'd likely be walking into a whole other category anyway.
That said, While I do not really get the perique, I think that it is the reason that the sweetness in this blend is not confectionary but more like a tall glass of sweet tea. It's an act of balance and offsetting - and a bit refreshing as compared to the last blend ( Founding Fathers) which was more cake icing sweet.
Matter of fact, it's not surprising they are rated similarly, because there really is no difference in the two of them to me ( and smoked back-to-back to confirm I didn't load the pipe with the wrong blend) except Granby Station is less cakey -that's about it .
Pros - It makes big "look at me" clouds of pleasantly scented smoke; it at least is not diabetes inducing; it's not offensive.
Cons - I really feel like there's just a little more it could offer - be it a touch more perique, a touch less sweetening - something. But it's OK.
It is a good aro that's just a bit different if you want one. I don't.
My Rating: 2

loading a large bowl of Granby Station in one of my "sitting pipes." This blend was the topper that helped carry me into Phillip Pullman's fantasy world, both of which was a joy. If pipes and books are a thing, Granby Station is the herb to make the trip smooth.

This is my go-to daily, several bowls a day, keep plenty on hand. I have a batch I mix granulated Perique in with for a little extra spice. Try it you will not be disappointed.
