I stopped liking aromatics, preferring straight virginias.
This is a great-tasting tobacco. Stronger than the rating gives it credit for.

It's got a delicious plummy playdoughy thing going on. The vanilla's there. I'd never be able to guess applejack if it wasn't on the description, but it works. I only occasionally smoke aros as a change of pace from my usual Balkans, and gave this one a whirl because it has applejack, a rare flavor. You can really taste it, which is awesome, and the addition of burley and perique make for a more complex experience than a usual aro. Smells nice in the tin, and packs, lights and burns well. I just wish it had a touch more strength and flavor. Would be a 4.5, a big aro rating for me, but dinged half a star for not being very, well, aromatic for an aro. I purchased a 2oz tin of Granby Station for my stock of "lets see if I like this." A couple of bowls over the past few weeks brought forth a couple of 'meh' opinions; perhaps I wasn't paying attention. This last week end, I was in my library and picked up an unread copy of The Golden Compass, after loading a large bowl of Granby Station in one of my "sitting pipes." This blend was the topper that helped carry me into Phillip Pullman's fantasy world, both of which was a joy. If pipes and books are a thing, Granby Station is the herb to make the trip smooth.
