About This Pipe Tobacco

Now in its fourth generation of producing fine pipe tobaccos, the Stokkebye family tradition began with Erik Peter Stokkebye, born in 1855, and continues to this day with bespoke blends, many paying homage to important dates in their family history.

The 1897 blend honors the birth year of Erik Peter's son Erik Paul, who loved to travel and seek new experiences. It presents a delightful combination of Golden Virginias, Burleys, and a touch of Black Cavendish. A base of rich vanilla combines with notes of sweet honey for a gentle aromatic sweetness, and it's presented here in a convenient 1.5-ounce pouch for easy travel smoking.

This has become my favorite aromatic. It is a solid, smooth, and pleasant smoke, and I often find myself enjoying more than one bowl in a single sitting. One pleasing smoke

So many pros, and very few cons here. Almost a 5/5.

This tobacco produces a mellow, smooth experience with vanilla and a faint walnut aroma present. There was ample medium grey smoke, which was consistent throughout the bowl. No bite, no matter how hard I push it. Very few relights on this product, and left with mostly ash after a good 35-45 minutes.

The only con here: My batch was bordering on wet. If you have a similar experience, leave it out on a towel for ~20 minutes, and you should be good to go!

I rotate through other tobaccos in other pipes, with some pipes dedicated to certain tobacco classes/types. However, I now have ONE pipe dedicated to this tobacco only....Read More

Pleasing, not overpowering

This is one of two 4th Generation blends I bought. This blend has a nice aroma without being too heavy. The room note is pleasant, but it doesn't overwhelm you. It has a nice, light aroma and doesn't bite the tongue like some aromatics do. I will probably order this again.
