About This Pipe Tobacco

One of McConnell's original blends dating back to 1848, McConnell's Scottish Cake is a coarse-cut broken flake and a favorite among discerning pipe smokers. It comprises a mixture of Dark Virginias, Dark-Fired Kentucky, and a hint of Perique all pressed for several weeks before being cut.

The virginia reminds me of mac barren less bite with a touch of dark fired Virginia perhaps. The Burley is like HH, the perique peppery and balaced and the dark fire spins everything into a Gawith and hogarth thing without the Lakeland essence. Smooth and worth it when ever it is available, however i won't stress to buy again as limited as it seems to be, but if its there then great. Mc Connell tobacco is always first class. I used wooden matches to carefully light this broken flake as to not scorch it. Smoked in a meerschaum as slow as I could was one of the finest smoking experiences I've had in a long long time ⌛️. Slow using the breath method. Totally amazing 👌

I could definitely smoke this blend all day. I purchased 2 tins. Already smoked one and the other is cellared away for a later date. I will be buying more to keep in the rotation and add to the cellar. Thumbs up from me.

My first non-aromatic

A B&M recommended this to me when I asked for a non-aromatic tobacco. I will be forever indebted to them.

The dark-fired in this blend gives so much weight and body to the sweetness of the VA and pepper of the perique. It's satisfying and relaxing. heavier than Golden Slices so the sweetness isn't as bright as other VaPers. The tin note is raisins and figs and the smoke remains true to that impression. The richness of the DFK really moves the sweetness from sugar to more of a molasses vibe. It smokes cool but could get out of hand if you're not paying attention. I recommend trying it if you haven't or are curious....Read More

Picked up a tin of this because the shop was out of what I'd gone in for, I've never been so happy for a shop to be out of the blend I wanted. I knew as soon as I opened this I had found something special, the smell of buttered toast and hay hinted at what was to come as I delightfully packed my pipe. A week and a half later I was back at the same shop picking up another two tins, one to smoke and one to cellar (I'd completely smoked through that first tin in that time.)
