Maple flavor seems to fade quickly no matter the blend. Rum in this isn't as heavy as in Sutliff's version (a good thing, in my opinion) and the burley is stronger. Halfway through it's all burley. Tastes mildly of cigar. Good if you want a burley that's interesting at first.

the flavor is slightly more tobacco than topping after the first few puffs. The topping retards the tobacco flavor considerably however I can tell this is a mellow burley. There are notes of sweet maple in the background throughout the bowl. Falls into the codger burley territory but still has a noticeable topping. Leaves a burley spiciness aftertaste. The spice is a bit too much for me. Burns well. Nicotine is a bit much for breakfast.
I feel like these types of codger blends were missing from the C&D lineup. Rivertown (An obvious ode to Sutliff and Richmond Va) I hope can fill some of the gap....Read More
