About This Pipe Tobacco

Black XX Rope from Samuel Gawith has the same twisted shapes but much Darker tobaccos than the Brown No.4. Stoving actually makes a richer and slightly more mellow smoke by heating the sugars and increasing the natural oils. Now available in 250g packages.

Not going to lie, I was a bit apprehensive about trying this because of the strength. Flavour wise it's a whopper, the nicotine is about average though. But that's probably just my perception because I'm also a regular cigar smoker... and vaper... also the odd cigarette. Anyway, if you like DFK, this is that but without the smoke and tang. Very meaty and enjoyable. I also heard reports that ropes like this would definitely ghost a pipe. Honestly I don't see how it could; sure the flavour is strong but it doesn't stick to you like an aromatic or an English. Strong but flavorful tobacco pairs well with a stout ale pretty much the same taste start to finish after you have a ash bed it's not for the beginner would recommend it to someone that wants something stronger but without latakia

Love it. Tastes like a two and a half pound Porter House steak right off the seasoned grill from my favorite restaurant. An amazing smoke after dark. Can’t say enough good things about it!

Tin notes of pungent smoky, leather and slightly tart sweet. The fat black rope needs preparation. The easiest way I found is to use a razor or thin sharp knife, cutting thin coins, and rubbing out. The Tabacco is relative damp and could use some drying. Burns slow and requires relights. The strength is strong and nic is moderate. No flavoring detected. The taste is full with notes of strong spicy cigar, strong smoky wood, very earthy and mildly grassy floral. To me sun cured Virginias are driving and smoked flue cured Virginias are supporting. Room note is tolerable to strong. Has a good aftertaste....Read More
