About This Pipe Tobacco

Peter Stokkebye's Cube Cut is an American blend of air-cured toasted Burley leaves from Tennessee and aged red Virginias have been pressed into cakes and cross cut into small squares for easy filing of the pipe and slow burning.

It's been a while since I've had a cube cut tobacco, I almost forgot how easy they are to keep going. This one needs a few minutes to dry. This is more virginia forward which is what I was hoping, the burley shows up as a supporting character. Great working tobacco.

Easy to pack and prepare, although it can be a little stubborn when it comes to getting it properly lit. Once it gets going, it settles into a cool, comfortable smoke. I’m definitely picking up the cocoa note that’s often associated, though it’s more of a dry, natural cocoa character rather than a sweet chocolate flavor. Amazing tobacco! One of those " I cant sip enough" types. If you only gravity load, little to no compression, it is easier to light and keep going. Its like an old car that may need a bit of choke in the start, but super reliable after that.

These days it seems like pipe smoking has turned into more of hobby. Some people only smoke once or twice a day. That's great I love that. But there are still some of us that smoke from sun up to sun down. Working 12 hours a day in the sun is not the best place to taste all the subtle nuances of some of the amazing tobacco we have these days. Some people just want a tobacco that tastes good, packs easy, and burns a long time with out having to play with it. This is that tobacco. It's slightly sweet with a hint of chocolate and nuts. Dip your pipe in the bag and go. Burns for a long time and you dont have to think about it. This is my all day smoke. It’s got a wonderful taste. It does need a little bit of dry in my opinion, but it’s nutty and does have a little cocoa going on. The cube cut makes it a little bit difficult to lighten my opinion, even though I dried it out for about a half hour You don’t seem to get that same full body smoky drawer that haunted bookshop or Old Joe Krantz would provide ; although I do think it’s a top quality Tabacco. Definitely something I would fill-in for a haunted bookshop and old Joe Kratz not a daily rotation, but definitely an excellent smoke...Read More
