About This Pipe
Abe Herbaugh developed a love for woodworking in his father's shop while growing up in West Virginia. He built electric guitars as a young man, during which time he was reintroduced to the hobby of pipe smoking. Abe eventually became interested in pipe making and attended his first pipe show in 2010, then left his job building guitars to pursue pipe making full-time. World-renowned for his craftsmanship, Abe draws particular influence from Danish and Japanese artisans.
This Dublin of Abe's making is very precisely made, weighing in at barely over one ounce despite a length of five inches and the inclusion of a silver accent. The bowl wears shallow waves of sandblast that offer a smooth but substantial feel to the fingers and is stained darkly to contrast well with the accent and pair easily with the vulcanite of the stem. The stem features a push-style tenon and shoulders that resemble a pair of nested expansion rings, allowing for a further portion of class in what is already a very dashing pipe.
