About This Pipe
Danish artisan Henri Sørensen draws inspiration from the great pipe makers that preceded him. His style is highly unique, yet also reflects a deep, unmistakable reverence for tradition. A trim, elegant take on the classic shape, this Dublin from Sørensen showcases the clean, minimal shaping of traditional Danish carving style.
The bowl exhibits an understated flare and a subtle forward cant; the latter lends a touch of dynamism to the composition. The slender, cylindrical shank strikes a perfect proportional balance with the bowl, and it's adorned with a fetching brass band that adds a dose of flash to the composition while still retaining a sense of warmth. The rich chestnut stain of the stummel also establishes a sense of inviting warmth while emphasizing the briar's lovely grain. A hand-cut stem of vulcanite tops off the composition, its bit slender and sleek, and its shoulders accented by an expansion ring: a small yet elegant detail that cements this offering as a thoroughly Danish piece.
