About This Pipe

In addition to being a skilled artisanal pipe maker, Scott Thile is also a piano tuner, rebuilder, and player. Considering the dedication, commitment, and attention to detail required by such occupations, it comes as no surprise that Thile is able to apply these traits to pipe making as well. He crafts what he describes as "Danish neoclassics as interpreted by the North American greats," applying astonishing finish work to his work for an impressive portfolio of well-crafted pipes.

This Billiard from Thile is a versatile, all-around handy pipe. At a little over an ounce, it's a lightweight piece whose compact length almost brings it in range of Nosewarmer dimensions, thus making it a great companion for an on-the-go smoker. It doesn't sacrifice tobacco-holding capacity for convenience though, as evidenced by its chamber that measures a touch over 1.5 inches deep. This pipe doesn't just suit an on-the-go smoker, though. With a flat panel along the stummel's bottom, it's a great choice for the stay-at-home office smoker, too, and would make a steadfast desktop companion. In addition to its versatility, the pipe wears a handsome, earthy hued sandblast paired to a cumberland stem for an overall cozy color palette that feels like home.
