About This Pipe
Jeff Gracik learned pipe making from the likes of Todd Johnson, Tonni Nielsen, and Jody Davis. His desire to make the best pipe he possibly can has led him to make some incredibly unique smoking instruments over the years, including this Tomato. The bowl is relatively squat at a depth of 1.33 inches and beautifully round for gentle but substantial curves that will fill the hand perfectly. The sandblast highlights the growth rings and straight flame grain of the briar, even through a dark stain that gives the stummel a sleek look matched by the stem. The stem is saddle-style vulcanite with brief shoulders and a light bend on its way back to the bit, a great finish that nearly allows this pipe to appear as a single piece. Jeff's great work in the blasting cabinet allowed this piece to have an excellent texture to pair with excellent grain, and the flaring shank helps to give this piece a substantial heft at one-eighth of a pound.
