About This Pipe
Brazilian artisan Luis Lavos' keen eye for design comes from both a background in graphic design and a long-standing passion for woodworking. With his seasoned skill for reading a block of briar, Lavos is able to produce some truly stunning pieces, such as this rusticated Apple with jupati.
Both conveniently compact and charmingly plump, this Apple is well-suited for travel and general on-the-go smoking. The bowl's modest chamber makes it conducive for quicker smoking sessions, and the piece's overall light weight allows it to be comfortably clenched in the jaw. A striped rustication dresses the stummel, with alternating grooved channels and smooth, light strips of briar encircling the bowl and shank alike. The end of the shank is adorned with jupati, a Brazilian palm wood, and its spotted pattern creates a striking contrast with the stummel's stripy rustication — proof that power clashing can also be for pipes.
