Captain James Earle first took to sea at age 12, embarking on a life-long passion that saw him ascend to the rank of Master of the Charles W. Morgan, the last of the wooden whaling ships, currently docked in Mystic, Connecticut. Manufactured by Cornell & Diehl, Captain Earle's pipe tobaccos pay tribute to his legacy, each blend in the series alluding to an important time in his life.

hey wrote "perfect all day smoke." It could truly be that for anyone. For now I'll let the rest of it sit for at least a few years more. I have done the same with the other two Capt. Earle's (C&D) blends. So, this is only my initial review for each of the three. And my "initial" ratings are: Nightwatch = 3.5 (would be 3.25 if I could), Stimulus Package = 4.0 (would be 3.75 if I could), and Private Stock = 4.5. Nightwatch; being a very strong Lat-blend (I will not be stocking up). Stimulus Package, while being in between those other two, it leans a good bit more toward Nightwatch; for the Latakia being the main character (and I will likely not be stocking up). This though, Private Stock, being the best of the three...I will grab up some more to store away. Know that these reviews, today, are from one who's not a high Latakia-lover...perhaps, not yet (with only two years of piping). Plus, all of the other variables: packing, tamping, pace of draw, pipe choice, etc. and so on. If you love Latakia...try Stimulus Package. Or try Nightwatch if you love gobs of Latakia. A very nice representation of a medium English blend. Well blened with a nice touch of Latakia and Perique and not over powering. Burns well and the crumble cake is easy to use.
